Privacy Policy

Last updated July 1, 2026

This policy explains what Winspect processes, what stays on your device, and the narrow cases where data leaves your browser. The short version: the pages you inspect are your business, not ours.

What stays on your device

The Winspect extension does its work locally. Page content, DOM structure, styles, screenshots you capture, your editing history, and any Tailwind config you import are processed entirely inside your browser and are never transmitted to our servers.

Extension preferences and cached license state are stored using your browser's extension storage and remain on your device.

What we do collect

Account and licensing: when you buy Winspect we store your email address, your license key, plan, and billing status. When you activate the extension we store a device identifier and a device name you can review and remove from your account page at any time.

AI requests (Core + AI plan only): when you explicitly invoke the AI assistant, the HTML markup of the element you selected and the prompt you typed are sent to our API and forwarded to our AI provider to generate a suggestion. We do not use this content to train models, and we do not send anything unless you trigger a request.

Support: if you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Creem acting as merchant of record. Your payment card details are handled by Creem and its payment processors and never reach Winspect's servers. We receive order metadata (email, plan, billing status) needed to issue and manage your license.

What we don't do

We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party advertising or advertising trackers. We do not log your browsing history, and the extension does not phone home about the sites you visit.

Data retention and your rights

We keep account data for as long as your license is active and as required for tax and accounting obligations afterwards. You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing [email protected]; deletion of licensing records may void the associated license.
